Salmon Fishing
Spring Chinook
Fishing out of Garibaldi, OR in the Tillamook Bay starting around the second week of May. I believe we have some of the biggest spring chinook around, 20-25 pound at average. We troll for springers with spin fish and a triangle flasher and sometimes herring and in the upper bay, spinners with a 360 flasher. Springers are one of the strongest, hard fighting fish and the best tasting salmon. Being a spring fishery you will just need rain gear and warm clothes.

Ocean Coho
Coho fishing in the Pacific Ocean out of Garibaldi, OR is one of the most fun fisheries you can do. IT is not uncommon to have every rod in the boat go off with on, two nets full of fish and pulling them in by hand, salmon bouncing all over the deck… a Coho Rodeo. We can have a 20 fish day. With this fishery, you end tired, but still get to pull crab pots before the day if over. We troll with spin fish filled with tuna, anchovy sauce and krill with a triangle flasher. If you want a great day fishing, Coho is the way to go. We start this fishery around the last two weeks of June through the second week of August, then start back up September first. September is a great time for this fishery because they don’t have to be fin clipped to keep, whatever you catch goes in the boat and there’s still a great chance to also catch a Chinook.
