Spring Chinook Are Running. Ocean Season Opens June 7. The Bay Is on Fire.
Spring Chinook are in Tillamook Bay right now, and the bite is as good as it gets. These fish are moving through with a full head of steam — if you've been waiting for your shot at spring kings, this is your window. The run will carry into early June, so there's still time to get in on it.
Ocean salmon season opens June 7 and runs through mid-August. After a short break, nonselective salmon opens September 1 and fishes through October — plenty of season left to plan around.
Crabbing has been outstanding. Whether you're fishing the bay or pushing offshore out of Garibaldi, both have been consistently productive. We drop crab pots on every ocean trip, so you're rarely leaving the dock without a shot at Dungeness. Bottom fishing has been equally strong — Lingcod and rockfish are biting well and limits have been within reach on good days.
One more thing: we have a new 35' boat on order. We're expecting to start tuna fishing in August, running into September. More range, more capacity — the offshore season this year is going to be a good one.
Call Captain Craig at (503) 812-1264 to check availability. Spring Chinook dates are going fast.
